Well, I am not sure it was the government but I don't know what other force could have such an impact. The good news is that nowadays candy corn has seasonal equivalents for Easter and other holidays so you can probably find it all year long. It's like a miracle right there in the candy aisle! My local Target store must have six or seven different varieties in all different colors. I tried Brach's Chocolate Caramel Candy Corn, but as a die hard chocolate lover, I was unimpressed.
