You found me out. I am just now stumbling across Super Bowl commercials because (gasp) I don’t give a hoot in a handbasket about football. I used to watch when I was a kid in the interest of family harmony but since I was about 18 I haven’t watched unless it happened to be on in whatever room I happened to wander through. I don’t dislike it; I just never developed a strong interest in it.
So I happened to do my weekly Twitter search on circus peanuts and found references to a Denny’s commercial that has a circus peanut as a pancake topper, along with a jelly orange slice. I now think that Denny’s is a little slice of heaven, if you can really get circus peanuts on pancakes. Has anyone been there and tried to order this? I don’t think I have been in a Denny’s in close to 20 years, so other than the one-trip breakfast bar, I am not sure what they might have on the menu.
What is your favorite way to enjoy circus peanuts?

IIRC, the purpose of the pancake in question was to show that, compared to other people, Denny’s has “serious breakfast.” They were mocking restaurants who turn pancakes into a dessert item, I think.

Ha, ha – I was going to say the same thing as Warren. Carl, I’m sorry to crush a dream! They were mocking the Circus Peanut. Which is a favorite pastime of mine as well. If only I had the money for a Superbowl ad…….

Great. So Denny’s is saying that they have a better place for people to arrange a hit on someone? They’d do better to advertise a circus peanut pancake.
Denise – Bow down to the circus peanut. It will someday be the confection of choice of our cruel ape masters. Dr. Zaius will learn you someday.
