Candy Lovin'Something that happens at the ALL CANDY EXPO® is that people have some fun. It’s one of the only times each year when so many industry representatives can get together, exchange ideas and share the common aspects of their professional lives, normally only felt from afar. They might relax a bit, unwind and let their hair down. For instance, look at this picture of Tori and Susan hugging up on the yellow M&M guy. Why is it that he is so lucky? I know he is famous and all, but I just don’t see why he attracted all the attention. What about the normal guys? Aren’t they good enough?

Mind you, this was before Susan got engaged. It was before talk of things like the chocolate wedding cake and bridal shower M&Ms. I guess she was still free to flirt with people dressed up as candy. But Tori? Oh, poor Brian, who has to put up with her flirting with every candy-costumed character who walks by.

This all leads me to wonder if there is a place for a guy dressed as a circus peanut. I searched in vain for a costume like this, but as everyone knows, if it isn’t on eBay, it hasn’t been invented yet. Alas.

This reminds me of the time, later during the same show that this M&Ms lovin’ picture was taken, that Tori called my cell phone to tell me she witnessed some of the costumed characters “hugging” on each other. I replied that I thought it was really sweet, and she gave me a puzzled “OK”, then hung up. Later I realized that what she actually said was the characters were “tugging” on someone.

Carl – I’ve never seen a circus peanut there, but I have seen Mister Peanut. It’s not the same, though. Mr. Peanut doesn’t smell of banana.

Seems like there have been a lot of M&M related posts lately. I hope they’re paying for all of this exposure!

Steve, nobody pays for exposure here. Believe me. This is my server space and my bandwidth getting used, not the company’s, and I am the only one paying for it. M&Ms are just lucky, I guess. Circus peanuts have also had a prominent position here, as king of the candy jungle. No money from them either.

However, if you want to start a trend of paying for us to blog about something in particular, you can certainly send money to my PayPal account and we will take it under consideration. I think it would be good for somebody to start this trend!

Seriously, though, nobody is paying for position here.

Susan, maybe the M&M could walk you down the aisle this weekend. Afterall, it’s not the first time that has happened!

  5. Carl – what about mugging the Planters Peanut guy and painting his costume orange? Ditch the monocle and the top hat – and it’s the perfect crime!
