If chocolate can’t be incorporated into Thanksgiving, then I am not sure what this country has come to. Check out this recipe I stumbled onto:
3 pounds yellow-fleshed potatoes, peeled
1 1/2 ounce white chocolate, chopped
3/4 teaspoon salt
6 dashes hot red pepper sauce, such as Tabasco sauce
1 1/2 cup fat-free milkDirections:
Place the potatoes in a large pot, cover with cool water to a depth of 2 inches, and bring to a simmer over high heat. Reduce the heat and simmer until tender when pierced with a fork, about 25 minutes. Drain in a colander set in the sink and return the potatoes to the pan.Add the white chocolate to the still-hot potatoes; stir until the white chocolate starts to melt. Stir in the salt and hot red pepper sauce.
Use an electric mixer at medium-low speed to mash the potatoes slightly. Pour in the milk and continue mixing until creamy, about 1 minute. Serve at once.
If that’s not good, I don’t know what is. What chocolate treats will you have at your festive board?

Hi, saw this on Twitter, and I can’t wait to make it. In the meantime, I’d like to add this to my DyingforChocolate blog for Thanksgiving. Hope that’s o.k. I will link to your site.

It’s certainly an attention getter. Is 1 1/2 ounces of white chocolate a lot?

The white chocolate is supposed to replace the butter you might normally use. So a quarter stick of butter is one ounce, right? I assume you have one-pound packages of butter up in Canada. I can’t remember offhand right now. So that’s not really a lot. You will get the rich flavor from the fats in the white chocolate and will have a tinge of sweetness, I think. Give it a shot!
